Inspite of the significant progress registered in positioning gender equality issues more centrally within programming, debates about mainstreaming perseveres. This paper focuses on refugee women's experiences water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects Tongogara Refugee Camp (TRC) Zimbabwe. The study posits that age, diversity (AGDM) policy WASH at TRC meant to empower women, is regarded by male counterparts as a threat their authority power. Guided feminist political ecology (FPE) theoretical framework, this qualitative research utilised case method with sixty-eight interviews, five indepth interviews eight focus group discussions (FGD) gather data. findings show imposition top-down approach implementation AGDM guidelines community has resulted increase domestic violence, sexual based violence (SGBV), divisions families well resentment some men for promoting equality. concluded activities an from above without input population, particularly population.
